Send rows to another table, or look up data from one

Use Send to Table to copy rows into another table, and Lookup in Table to pull values back.

Written by Umer Ishaq

Send to Table copies rows from one table into another. Lookup in Table does the reverse: it pulls a value from another table into this one. Both are labelled Free.

Send rows to another table

  1. Click Add column, then Add enrichment.

  2. Open the Export tab and click Send to Table.

  3. Under Destination, pick the table the rows go to. Pick a table that already has the columns you want to fill.

  4. Choose a Method. Send row sends one destination row per row in this table. Send row for each item in a list is the other option.

  5. In Column Mapping, untick any column you don't want to send. The count updates, for example "All columns (2 of 3)". The text field next to each column holds the destination column name. When it matched an existing column, the values landed there.

  6. Click the arrow next to the button and choose Add column without running.

  7. Click the column's play button and choose Run all 5 empty rows. The dialog says "Spends nothing from your wallet".

The Export tab of the Add column panel. Under Tables, Send to Table, marked Free, is outlined in red. Above it are Download CSV and Download Excel. Below are HeyReach, Instantly and Smartlead.

Each row then says 1 record sent.

Avoid sending duplicates

In Advanced Settings, Update existing rows on re-run and Skip duplicates are both off by default. With both off, re-running the column sends every row again, so the destination gets duplicates.

To avoid that, switch on Skip duplicates. A Unique Key Column field appears. Pick the destination column to match on, such as a domain column. Always pick one: without a key, every row failed with "Unique key column is required when updating rows or skipping duplicates." Re-run cells then say Skipped duplicate.

Look up a value from another table

  1. Click Add column, then Add enrichment, and search for Lookup.

  2. Pick Lookup in Table. It says "Pull a value from another table".

  3. Set Table to Search, the table to look in.

  4. Set Target Column, the column there to match against.

  5. Set Filter Operator to Equals or Contains.

  6. Set Return Type to First match, Up to 100 matches or Match count.

  7. For Value to look up, click the field, press /, and pick the column in this table to search for.

  8. Choose Add column without running, then run it from the column's play button.

Cells say Record Found or No Record Found.

Add a looked-up field as its own column

  1. Select a Record Found cell and press Enter to see its fields.

  2. Hover a field and click Add to column.

Good to know

  • If the destination table was already open when you sent rows, reload the page to see the new rows and columns.

  • When you press /, pick a column from the list. If you close the list without picking, a / stays in the field.

  • Columns you add to this table later show up ticked in the Send to Table mapping. Check the count before you re-run.
