Personal email, Mobile phone, LinkedIn profile and Custom waterfalls, and the regional versions

This article covers the Personal email, Mobile phone, LinkedIn profile and Custom waterfalls, what each one needs and costs, and the regional versions of Work email and Mobile phone.

Written by Umer Ishaq

Which waterfalls are there?

Click Add column, then Waterfall. The submenu lists Work email, Personal email, Mobile phone, LinkedIn profile and Custom. These are the All regions versions. For the Work email waterfall, see Find people's contact details with waterfalls.

The Waterfall submenu, with a back arrow and the heading Waterfall, listing five entries: Work email, Personal email, Mobile phone, LinkedIn profile and Custom.

Each one opens a panel with the line "Runs providers one after another until one finds an answer it keeps." and two tabs, Quick setup and Full configuration.

Where are the regional versions?

  1. Click Add column, then Add enrichment.

  2. Type waterfall in the search box.

  3. The results are labelled "Waterfall · By Loopster". They include Work email and Mobile phone for five regions: North America, Europe, Latin America, APAC and MEA.

The Add enrichment search panel with waterfall typed in the search box. The results list shows Work email waterfalls for North America, Europe, Latin America, APAC and MEA, then Mobile phone waterfall and Mobile phone waterfalls for the same five regions, each with a price per row such as about $0.018 per row.

The Personal email, LinkedIn profile and Custom waterfalls are listed once each. Every Work email version says "up to $0.069" and every Mobile phone version says "up to $0.747". Each list line also shows its own price per row. After you open a version, its panel has a Cost per row line.

Work email · Europe has the same inputs, the same 11 providers and the same verifier as the All regions version. The order is different:

  1. Loopster Find Work Email (Free)

  2. Findymail

  3. Icypeas Find Email

  4. BetterContact Find Work Email

  5. Wiza Find Email

  6. FullEnrich Find Work Email

  7. AI Ark Find Work Email

  8. Findymail Find From LinkedIn

  9. Reverse Contact Find Work Email

  10. Surfe Find Work Email

  11. ContactOut Find Work Email

Mobile phone · North America has the inputs LinkedIn URL (required) and Country, and 8 providers: Loopster Find Phone Number (Free), Findymail Mobile Phone, Wiza Find Mobile Phone, BetterContact Find Mobile Phone, Surfe Find Mobile Phone, ContactOut Mobile Phone, AI Ark Find Mobile Phone and FullEnrich Find Mobile Phone, in that order.

In that version, Verify each phone number is set to Don't verify.

What does each one need?

A required input is marked with *.

Personal email

  • LinkedIn URL is required ("LinkedIn profile URL of the contact"). First Name, Last Name, Full Name and Domain are also listed. The hint for Domain says "Company domain — helps a provider resolve the right person".

  • If LinkedIn URL is empty, the footer says "Select a column for LinkedIn URL before running."

  • The providers line says "stops at the first personal email the verifier accepts".

  • Providers, in order: Loopster Find Personal Email (Free), Aviato Find Personal Email, ContactOut Find Personal Email, FullEnrich Find Personal Email and Surfe Find Personal Email. The first three show "Needs LinkedIn URL" until it is mapped.

  • Verify each email starts on Findymail Verify Email $0.0043/check. It has the same five choices as Work email: Reoon Verify Email, ZeroBounce Validate Email, Kitt Verify Email, Findymail Verify Email and Don't verify.

Mobile phone

  • LinkedIn URL is required. Country is a second input, and it is not marked with *: "Two-letter country code of the contact (GB, US…), used to verify numbers written without +".

  • If LinkedIn URL is empty, the footer says "Select a column for LinkedIn URL before running."

  • The providers line says "stops at the first mobile phone found". This waterfall finds mobile phones only.

  • The info icon says: "Drag a step, or use its handle with Space and the arrow keys, to change the order. Providers run in order, and the first mobile phone found ends the row — later providers are not called. Switched-off steps are skipped."

  • Providers, in order: Loopster Find Phone Number (Free), Surfe Find Mobile Phone, ContactOut Mobile Phone, FullEnrich Find Mobile Phone, Findymail Mobile Phone, AI Ark Find Mobile Phone, BetterContact Find Mobile Phone and Wiza Find Mobile Phone.

  • Verify each phone number starts on Don't verify. The other choice is ClearoutPhone Validate Phone $0.0065/check. The info icon says: "Each phone number a provider finds is checked before the waterfall accepts it. A check is billed when it answers valid or invalid. One that comes back unknown is free, and the next provider runs. A valid number is assigned to a carrier. That is not proof it is this person's number."

  • Add provider lists one entry, Prospeo Mobile Finder ("Find a mobile number from a LinkedIn profile"). With no Prospeo connection, it says "Your own key, not connected".

The Mobile phone waterfall panel scrolled to its Providers section. The line stops at the first mobile phone found, outlined in red, sits above a numbered list of eight providers that starts with Loopster Find Phone Number marked Free, followed by an Add provider button and the Verify each phone number box set to Don't verify.

LinkedIn profile

  • Email is the only input ("Email address of the contact").

  • The providers line says "stops at the first linkedin profile found". The info icon ends: "the first linkedin profile found ends the row — later providers are not called. Switched-off steps are skipped."

  • Providers, in order: Loopster Email to LinkedIn (Free), Icypeas Email to LinkedIn, ContactOut Work Email to LinkedIn, Reverse Contact Email to LinkedIn, FullEnrich Reverse Email Lookup, Aviato Reverse Email Lookup, Surfe Reverse Email Lookup and ContactOut Personal Email to LinkedIn. Each shows "Needs Email" until it is mapped.

  • There is no verifier line.

Custom

  • There are no inputs in the setup. Under SETUP INPUTS it says: "Each step asks for what it needs, on the step itself — two actions rarely want the same columns."

What do they cost?

Each panel has a Cost per row line with an info icon. Under it, a line such as All 5 rows in this table shows a total. On Custom it says "Usage-based". For Work email, see Find people's contact details with waterfalls.

  • Personal email: "$0.0043 – $0.147", a range. The footer chip says "from $0.0043/row". The info icon says: "From $0.0043 per row, when the first provider finds it. Up to $0.147 per row, when the most expensive provider finds it. It stops at the first provider that finds a result. A provider that finds nothing costs nothing. Each verification check is billed, including one that rejects an address."

  • Mobile phone: "~$0.332 (up to $0.747)". The info icon says: "About $0.332 per row on average, estimated from benchmark hit rates. From $0.00 when the first provider finds it, up to $0.747 when the most expensive one does. It stops at the first provider that finds a result. A provider that finds nothing costs nothing."

  • LinkedIn profile: "$0.00 – $0.124". The info icon says: "From $0.00 per row, when the first provider finds it. Up to $0.124 per row, when the most expensive provider finds it. It stops at the first provider that finds a result. A provider that finds nothing costs nothing."

  • Custom: "Usage-based". With no providers added, the info icon says: "$0.00 per row, whichever provider finds it. It stops at the first provider that finds a result. A provider that finds nothing costs nothing."

How do I build a Custom waterfall?

  1. Click Add column, then Waterfall, then Custom.

  2. Pick a Data type: Text, URL, Number, Date or Checkbox. It starts on Text. The info icon says: "What the merged column holds. Set before the column runs — changing it later leaves the answers it already has alone."

  3. Under SETUP INPUTS there is nothing to map. It says: "Each step asks for what it needs, on the step itself — two actions rarely want the same columns."

  4. Under PROVIDERS, the panel says "stops at the first value found" and "No providers added yet". Click Add provider.

  5. A box opens with a Search actions field. It lists 57 actions in alphabetical order, each with a price chip. It mixes contact finders with other actions, for example Enrich Company and Get HeyReach Lead.

  6. Add the steps in the order you want. The info icon says: "Drag a step, or use its handle with Space and the arrow keys, to change the order. Providers run in order, and the first value found ends the row — later providers are not called. Switched-off steps are skipped."

  7. Click the arrow next to the main button and choose Add column without running. Then test one row.

The Custom waterfall panel with the Search actions box open and outlined in red, over a list of actions in alphabetical order, each with a green price chip, such as AI Ark and Aviato actions. Below the list are an Add provider button, a Cost per row line, a Run Settings section and an Add column and run 2 rows button.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find a provider in Add provider

What you see: You type a name in the Add provider search box of a Custom waterfall and it says Nothing matches “…”. Searches for Apollo, HubSpot, Instagram, Slack and Emails at a domain each give a message such as Nothing matches “Apollo”. A search for Prospeo finds two items, Prospeo Find Email and Prospeo Mobile Finder.

Why it happens: The list holds only some actions, and it differs by waterfall. Work email offers Hunter and Prospeo Find Email. Mobile phone offers Prospeo Mobile Finder. In Personal email and LinkedIn profile, Add provider is greyed out. A Custom waterfall lists 57 actions.

What to do: If the action you want is not in the list, look for it as its own column: click Add column, then Add enrichment, and search for it. The provider's integration article says whether an action is marked as eligible for a waterfall step. See Which integrations does Loopster list?.

Good to know

  • Check Auto-run before you add a paid waterfall. See Run columns safely: Auto-run, test one row, then run the rest.

  • Add provider is greyed out in Personal email and LinkedIn profile.

  • Each step has a settings row. In Work email and Mobile phone, OUTPUT has a Keeps menu. For example, the ContactOut Mobile Phone step shows "The mobile phone it finds (default)".

  • The first step of Work email, Personal email, Mobile phone and LinkedIn profile is a Loopster step marked Free. It has a Max record age box. The tooltip says: "Leave empty to accept any age. Set a limit and this step's answer is passed over when its record is older, so the next provider runs."

  • On the Full configuration tab of Personal email, Add formula adds a step called Formula. It says "Free to run — nothing from your wallet." Its formula box is filled with @{First name} + "." + @{Last name} + "@" + @{Domain}. The email it builds goes through the same verifier.

  • The Full configuration tab of Personal email has the same block of settings as Work email. Mobile phone and LinkedIn profile have only Check against other rows and Name the provider that found it.
