What can I get back? Undo, History, Archive and Trash

A list of what you can bring back in Loopster after you delete, clear, archive or overwrite something, and where to do it.

What can I get back, and how?

Find what you did, then follow the way back.

  • Delete rows: No. The confirmation says "This cannot be undone." Undo, History and the Trash have nothing to bring them back.

  • Dedupe: No. It is not on the Undo list, and it does not appear in History or the Trash.

  • Archive rows: Yes. Click More table options, then View: Live to switch to View: Archived. Tick the row, click Actions, then Restore 1 row. See Work with selected rows: enrich, archive or delete.

  • Clear column: Yes, with Undo in the top bar, until you reload the page. It is not in History.

  • Delete column: Yes. Click Undo in the "Column deleted" message. Later, click History, then Restore data, find the Column deleted card and click Restore.

  • Overwrite a column: Yes. Click History, then Restore data, find the Column run card and click Restore.

  • Type over a cell: Yes, with Undo in the top bar, until you reload the page. If a later Overwrite replaced your value, restore it from the Column run card.

  • Delete a table: Yes, for 30 days. The window says: "You can restore it until then." The table goes to the Trash, and its row there has a Restore button. See Restore deleted tables and functions from the Trash.

  • Change a column's prompt: The existing results stay. In our tests, saving a new prompt did not re-run any cell or cost anything. See Use AI columns and AI web research.

The More table options menu open under the three-dot button in the toolbar, listing View: Live, Row height: 1 line, Dedupe, Dep Graph, Export, Share and a Column status detail switch. The View: Live item is outlined in red.

What is in History?

Click History at the bottom right of the table. Usage history opens the Usage page. The other three options open one drawer called History, with three tabs:

The History menu open above the History button at the bottom right of a table. Under the heading Table history it lists Usage history (What this table spent, and on what), Change log, All configuration versions and Restore data. The Usage history item is outlined in red.

  • Change log: who changed what, and when. It lists deleted columns, column runs and configuration saves. It does not list deleting rows, dedupe, archive or unarchive, Clear column, cell edits, adding a column, or the restore actions.

  • Configuration: cards labelled Before restore or Autosaved, each with a Restore button. In the History menu, All configuration versions describes it as "Restore columns, views and filters".

  • Data: cards with a Column deleted or Column run badge. This is the Restore data option.

The Change log is a record. It has no buttons. For the full list of tabs, see Table options: row height, dependency graph, export, share and history.

The History drawer, titled History with the line What changed on this table, and what you can put back. A strip of three tabs reads Change log, Configuration and Data, with Configuration selected, and is outlined in red. Below it are a Save configuration version button and a list of cards labelled Autosaved or Before restore, each with a column count and a Restore button.

What does Undo cover, and when does it reset?

Undo and Redo are the arrows in the top bar.

The top bar of a table showing the Undo and Redo arrows with the Saved indicator beside them. The Undo arrow is outlined in red.

  • On the Undo list: cell edits (one step each) and Clear column (one step).

  • Not on it: adding rows, deleting rows, archive and unarchive, dedupe, deleting a column, running a column, and the restore actions.

Both arrows are greyed out after you reload the page. In our tests, the Undo list was also empty after leaving the table for the Trash page and coming back.

Does restoring a column or its values cost money?

No. The restore windows say so:

  • Bring this column back?: "This spends nothing from your wallet."

  • Restore these values?: "This spends nothing from your wallet."

The messages after a restore say "Nothing was spent from your wallet." The Restore data menu line says: "Undo a run or a deleted column — nothing spent".

Good to know

  • A Normalize Domain column that reads a deleted column shows "Invalid column reference: @{col_<id>}" in its cells, with a warning icon in its header, until you restore the deleted column.

  • A restored column goes back where it was, next to the columns it sat beside.

  • The Trash holds deleted workbooks, tables and functions. It does not hold rows, columns or cleared values.

  • When you restore a Column run card, the window says: "These values were correct when they were saved. If the underlying data has moved on since, a fresh run will be more accurate than this restore."

  • For the steps to restore a deleted column, see Rename, edit, hide, duplicate and delete columns.
